Test-Karyo 3.x
Digital Cytogenetic Analyzer

VideoTest-Karyo 3.x Digital Cytogenetic Analyzer

The Analyzer is designed for automatic karyotyping of human chromosomes stained by different techniques (G, Q, R), and for semiautomatic karyotyping of chromosomes of animals and plants. Automatic karyotyping is implemented in TesT-Karyo 3.1 or TesT-Karyo 3.0. User interface that combines all functionality into logical groups lets you easily and fast make yourself familiar with the program. Due to high precision of chromosome detection, you will benefit from increase of productivity and time saving.

The analyzer includes the following parts:

1. Transmitted light or fluorescence microscope. The main technical requirements to the microscopes applied in geneticsare the following ones: uniform illumination of the field, high resolution and image contrast. For routine work in your laboratory, the Axiostar plus microscope can be used, and for research work, we recommend the Axioskop 40 by Carl Zeiss (Germany).

2. Digital input system. For image capturing, black-and-white digital input system are used. For work in transmitted light, we recommend the VT-ARC4000 system (1300x1030 resolution), and for work with fluorescence, in case of Q-staining, the VT-600CLM input system is recommended.

By using the TesT-Karyo 3x, the images of chromosome specimens observed in the microscope are captured and transferred to PC with specific
TesT-Karyo 3.1 or VideoTesT-Karyo 3.0 installed.

The system enables you to set up the image input in the live video mode (adjust focusing, brightness and contrast, use signal accumulation, if required), select the field of view and capture image.

Chromosomes will be automatically detected on the image, crossing or overlapping chromosomes will be separated. If required, the operator can correct the automatic detection by using specific powerful tools.

The next step involves automatic karyotyping. Karyo 3.1 software provides 95% accuracy of automatic karyotyping of human chromosomes (in case of quality specimens). The correction of karyotyping results by the operator is minimized. The system can also be trained on the specimens of the customer to improve the automatic classification. Karyotyping of chromosomes of animals and plants is performed automatic by using the Karyo 3.0 software. On demand of the customer, the automatic karyotyping of animal and plant chromosomes is also available.

On the karyogram, a great number of standard ideograms can be displayed: those for human, cattle, sheep, chicken, mouse and rat.

The software provides you with a powerful tool for ideogram building. Chromosomes and ideograms can be placed to the field of comparison to analyze complicated cases.
